Week 20

I'm almost beside myself now, we went for  a look today (surprise surprise) and found the plasterer onsite. Lucky for us it gave us a chance to peek inside before Thursday. I was thrilled to see heaps of blue and yellow tape, I know small things amuse small minds. There appears to have been an additional inspection completed with the report sitting in the kitchen. I was thrilled to read that they have identified some issues with the brickwork and will be fixing and re-cleaning. I could not figure out if that will fix all my drama's but at least it's a start and looks like quite a comprehensive list of repairs so maybe I'll be lucky.

Week 19

So we're not expecting too much change this week. Someone has done an inspection and looks like they have picked up quite a few of the imperfections. Can't wait to see if they got them all. We are having our inspection on 28th of November, not sure yet what time but I am assuming SS Dave might let us know soon, as usual for our build I guess I'll have to ring him and find out. If I have not heard from him by Friday I'll give him a buzz.

Week 18

So now I'm in big trouble, after nagging the kids to at least read my blog I have taken a couple of weeks off posting. It took 2 weeks but my baby (Mr 25) finally bagged me out and told me to update it NOW!!!

Week 15

Wow, week 15 goes down as the best week of our build yet...Unfortunately not because of the build but because my son became the father of the most handsome baby TEDDY JAMES SCOTT born on 19th of October at about 11.18am.

Its been quite a busy week at home as I guess anyone can imagine, the house is quite full now the baby has arrived (which I love of course). I'm so proud every time I see Kyle and Taylor with the baby it makes my heart melt. I thought the mother was meant to be emotional but this time its me (Nan)

Week 14

So a quick trip to Brisbane has set me all adrift, literally actually. We spent a couple of great days with my sister followed up by a Mercedes Benz driving academy day. I had an absolute ball in both the skid pan and the obstacle course, also got to drive a semi trailer and a MB V8. A quick hot lap in the AMG and it was all too quickly time to go home. Thanks to the MB academy team, wish you all good luck in your upcoming races.

Week 12

I have to say something today that I never thought would be a good thing.....WE ARE All LOCKED UP.  Only funny for me because I work at a Goal and in every other situation that would be the worst statement I could make, but for our build it is definitely the best.

Week 10

After driving by every day this week and watching what appeared to be no progress. I decided on Wednesday to pop in for a sticky beak. While talking on the phone to a friend I wandered around wondering why there was so much mess around with no work done. Thinking that my builders had lost the plot in a major way I suddenly noticed that there was gyprock above my head. Half the house had the ceilings up and I didn't even notice.

Week 9

This week sees the electrical walk through and the insulation fitted into the walls. It looks like they have done a good job. The eaves are 3/4 completed, not really sure why they did not finish completely but so be it.

Week 8

Monday:-

So I need to learn to listen when the builders are talking instead of getting over excited. The plan this week might be:-

Monday - nothing to do, this was an allocated day for the roof that they finished early last week.
Tuesday - Clean up of site, possibly bricks.
Wednesday - Delivery of eaves.
Thursday - Installation of eaves.

Week 7

Took a drive on Monday with Jade just to get her hours up and of course we went past the block. Hoping she will have her P's before we move so she can get around. Anyway the gutters are all installed and the roofing has been delivered.

Monday, 19 August 2013

Week 6

It has taken a lot but we did not go to the block much this week. Darren has been sick so we spent a couple of days not doing much, went to the movies and then on Thursday we started cleaning and have been busy fixing stuff at home and cleaning ready to put the house on the block. Did manage a drive by about lunch time today just in time to see that the brickwork has been completed. The brickies were just packing up, having a quick bite to eat first by the look of it.

I am really happy with the bricks so far, hopefully that will still be the case once they clean them off. This is the most exciting part of the whole build, something new to look at on every drive by - Kyle still has not seen the block or the house, he has decided to wait for the completed build and be surprised. I guess he is old enough to move out if he doesn't like it anyway.

Week 5

12.8.2012 I thought with the gale force winds today we were going to loose the frame but lucky for me they managed to finish off completely before the wind storm started. Stupid me didn't even think to take a photo I was so excited.

Bricks arrived onsite on Tuesday and the poor laborer spent wednesday moving it round and getting ready for the brick layer who is coming on Thursday.

Monday, 5 August 2013

Week 4

5.8.2013 So the frame is being shored up and all the roof trusses have been put together and leaned against the fences, no work that could be seen on Tuesday and on Wednesday morning a big ass crane was onsite lifting the roof trusses into place. Not sure how I thought they would get up there, I am almost ashamed to say they must magically be held up by the builders. Windows have also been delivered and are laying around waiting to be installed.
