Week 20

I'm almost beside myself now, we went for  a look today (surprise surprise) and found the plasterer onsite. Lucky for us it gave us a chance to peek inside before Thursday. I was thrilled to see heaps of blue and yellow tape, I know small things amuse small minds. There appears to have been an additional inspection completed with the report sitting in the kitchen. I was thrilled to read that they have identified some issues with the brickwork and will be fixing and re-cleaning. I could not figure out if that will fix all my drama's but at least it's a start and looks like quite a comprehensive list of repairs so maybe I'll be lucky.

Basically that was an instant mood lift, we had been expecting another run in at the inspection on Thursday and I'm not sure that I could cope with another lecture on how mortar is a natural product and that is normal.....Now we can relax and enjoy what is left in the process and hopefully in just over a week we'll have our keys.

It's been pretty busy at home for some time now and just to make sure we are at our optimum stress point our old home has been protesting our leaving. After selling in September for what I like to call my "pretty penny" the old place has been protesting in every way it could. So fare I have replaced the dishwasher, followed closely by a repair for the same dishwasher, repaired the air conditioning unit, patched a couple of small holes in the wall, and this week just to keep us going the condensation drain for the air conditioning unit flooded into the roof, poured through my favorite kitchen light. While Darren was up there fixing the drain and mopping up the water I bet you can't guess what he did. Yes it did involve splitting the gyprock and today my Fabulous son and wonderful husband are patching a 1200 x 900 hole in the ceiling. Of course its in the center of our open living space and the whole roof will need to be painted to fix it properly .

Even with all the work, the packing and pop up repairs I'm still excited for this week to start. So much so that I am beginning this weeks update 2 days early.....No photo's though, we are waiting till Thursday. I hope all your builds go well and you manage to enjoy the process. For those of you that are lucky enough to be finished soon, Merry Christmas in your new home good luck getting unpacked in time for your visitors, and and even Merrier Christmas for those of you that are not there yet - be grateful you don't have to rush the moving process..
